Each year, hundreds of parents, alumni, and other friends of
the Academy make financial contributions that allow Thayer to continue its mission
of “inspiring a diverse community of students to moral, intellectual, aesthetic,
and physical excellence, so that each might rise to honorable achievement and contribute
to the common good.”
There are many ways for you to add your support – from unrestricted gifts to the
annual fund, to the support of important capital projects, to insuring a strong
future for the Academy by adding to the endowment.
In the fall of 2007, the Trustees of Thayer Academy announced
the public phase of a new fundraising campaign called Building on the Mission. The
goal of the campaign is to raise $30 million by June 2009 to fund a series of capital
projects and make important additions to the Academy’s endowment.
At the core of Thayer’s annual giving program is the annual
fund. As the name implies, the annual fund supports the Academy’s annual operating
budget, and provides funds for tuition assistance, faculty salaries, and the Academy’s
strong academic, arts, and athletics programs.

and the ideals of "rising to honorable achievement and contributing to
the common good." Legendary Headmaster Stacy B. Southworth nurtured this
legacy during his tenure from 1920 to 1948.
