Each year, hundreds of parents, alumni, and other friends of the Academy make financial contributions that allow Thayer to continue its mission of “inspiring a diverse community of students to moral, intellectual, aesthetic, and physical excellence, so that each might rise to honorable achievement and contribute to the common good.”
There are many ways for you to add your support – from unrestricted gifts to the annual fund, to the support of important capital projects, to insuring a strong future for the Academy by adding to the endowment.
Capital and
Endowment Giving


In the fall of 2007, the Trustees of Thayer Academy announced the public phase of a new fundraising campaign called Building on the Mission. The goal of the campaign is to raise $30 million by June 2009 to fund a series of capital projects and make important additions to the Academy’s endowment.
Annual Giving

At the core of Thayer’s annual giving program is the annual fund. As the name implies, the annual fund supports the Academy’s annual operating budget, and provides funds for tuition assistance, faculty salaries, and the Academy’s strong academic, arts, and athletics programs.
Planned Giving and the Southworth Society

General Sylvanus Thayer's selfless act of bequeathing a portion of his estate to found the Academy represented the value he placed on education and the ideals of "rising to honorable achievement and contributing to the common good."
