Annual Giving
Annual Fund
At the core of Thayer’s annual giving program is the annual fund. As the name implies, the annual fund supports the Academy’s annual operating budget, and provides funds for tuition assistance, faculty salaries, and the Academy’s strong academic, arts, and athletics programs. Gifts to the annual fund can be unrestricted or directed to an area that reflects the donor’s particular interest.

The General’s Council was established in 1997 to recognize donors who make total contributions of at least $1,500 during the Academy’s fundraising year. These donors are thanked by the Board of Trustees at the annual General’s Council Dinner, a very special evening that has been held at interesting on and off campus locations.
In the fall of 2007, the Trustees of Thayer Academy announced the public phase of a new fundraising campaign called Building on the Mission. The goal of the campaign is to raise $30 million by June 2009 to fund a series of capital projects and make important additions to the Academy’s endowment.
