General's Council

Gifts in all amounts from all members of the Thayer community help the Academy reach its fundraising goals. Contributions at the leadership level are particularly critical to reaching fundraising goals, and leadership donors are recognized as members of The General’s Council.

The General’s Council was established in 1997 to recognize donors who make total contributions of at least $1,500* during the Academy’s fundraising year. These donors are thanked by the Board of Trustees at the annual General’s Council Dinner, a very special evening that has been held at interesting on and off campus locations.

*Special membership in the General's Council is open to young alumni whose annual gifts total $250 (0 - 4 years since graduation). $500 (for 5 -9 years since graduation), or $1,000 (10 - 19 years since graduation).
Annual Giving

At the core of Thayer’s annual giving program is the annual fund. As the name implies, the annual fund supports the Academy’s annual operating budget, and provides funds for tuition assistance, faculty salaries, and the Academy’s strong academic, arts, and athletics programs.
Capital and
Endowment Giving

In the fall of 2007, the Trustees of Thayer Academy announced the public phase of a new fundraising campaign called Building on the Mission. The goal of the campaign is to raise $30 million by June 2009 to fund a series of capital projects and make important additions to the Academy’s endowment.
